I noticed that the Nchrltte.ccg file was spelled Nchrllte.ccg (or
something like that-could even be the Chrltte.ccg file) and when I
changed the .ccg to .txt after deleting the original txt file it gave me
problems until I found the spelling error and corrected it.

A few people have been experiencing trouble using the CCG AI for
C***te.  I am not sure exactly what is causing the problems.  I
assume that in the process of installing the new files certain files are
getting deleted from one of the C***te Track Directories (CHRLTTE or
NCHRLTTE).  N2 doesn't like it when certain files are missing.

If you try "copying" via Win95, you might have easily "moved" the files
from one of the directories.  Try unpacking the files in a different
directory (or even better a different drive) and then copy them to the
CHRLTTE & NCHRLTTE directories.  Then copy the NCHRLTTE.CCG file to
the NCHRLTTE.TXT file in the NCHRLTTE directory.  Do the same for the
CHRLTTE.CCG file, but of course copy it to CHRLTTE.TXT in the CHRLTTE
directory.  Also make sure that you are "typing" the *.txt file names
exactly to match the old version and the directory name.

The following files should be in each directory along with the other
supporting files.  But these are the only files concerning the CCG Ai
enhancement:

CHRLTTE

chrltte.txt  maxrace.lp   minrace.lp   pass1.lp     pit.lp
maxpanic.lp  minpanic.lp  pace.lp      pass2.lp     race.lp

NCHRLTTE

maxpanic.lp   minrace.lp    pass1.lp      race.lp
maxrace.lp    nchrltte.txt  pass2.lp
minpanic.lp   pace.lp       pit.lp

I hope this helps some of you out there who may have run into trouble
with C***te.  If anyone else knows what may be causing these
problems, please let us know....

Thanks to all of you have sent us your feedback regarding the new AI.

Michael,

You may want to create an installation program, for people to use, that would
eliminate user error.  Test it well before releasing it though.

Thanks Ken, you found the problem (me!) <G>  I was the one that packed
the zip file with the "mistyped" nchrltte.ccg file name.  I guess I
should pay more attention to my own instructions above. I am patching
the version right away.

As it turns out the "user error" was ME!!!  Fixed the problem and have
uploaded the corrected version.

No problems at all installing the AI for either C***te or Talledega--the
ones I've installed so far.  The Tally AI is, IMHO, a big improvement.  I
use the RELS 111 setting with the recommended BLAP.  The C***te AI seems
to ignore that the player's on the track.  Seems like they will just drive
into you in turns unless you are pretty much dead even with them.  This is
my impression with not much lap time--about 50 laps--and is subject to
change.

The Tally AI greatly increases the driving pucker factor. I now see some of
those really long trains.   I hate it, but I really, really like it!
(Figure that one out. :-) )  I'm anxious to give the other tracks' AI a go,
particularly Martinsville.  Let you know more later.
