I applied this, and was just racing a quick race to test it when I
noticed something.  When I hit F3 for the fuel consumption, it was
staying constant at 3.5 MPG.  Is this due to the new .LP files or what?
Or is it just me? :-)

Just one question on that AI, is a rels setting of 112-114 realistic? No matter
how perfect my laps are, I quickly lose the drafts of most of the cars. Maybe
it's just me.

I just did a quick test and during practice running by myself F3 showed
the same 3.5 mpg.  However, in race conditions when I was following a
draft the mpg would go up to 5.42 and drop to 5.32 when I was out of the
draft.  Check again....

To be honest a RELS of 112-114 is not realistic.  The reason we
suggested higher RELS is "force" the AI to run as if they were in a
restrictor plate race.  RELS 112-114 is on the high side if you are
racing with a quality wheel setup.  However, it has been my experience
that dropping the RELS below 111 it is too easy to run down the leaders
(even without the benefit of constanting drafting).  The best approach
to find the perfect RELS for you is to keep lowering it by a couple of
notches and run about 20 laps starting at the rear of the pack.
If you can move up to mid-pack in about 15-20 laps, bump the RELS up a
notch.  If you are using a joystick or keyboard, you will definately
need a lower RELS.  Try to find a RELS that will prevent you from
chasing down cars when you are not in a draft and they are.

The other key ingredient is a solid setup.  Try all shocks at 100% and
start playing with the rear weight jack.

Hi Aaron!

You mean this a little higher than usuall? This AI makes it the
closest thing yet to racing humans at this track. As we can exploit
the track, so can our AI. You may well find that as you tucked up in
the draft train for 10 laps, you're probably hitting about 198's
constantly(?), while with the original AI, you may find you'll be
2-3Mph slower and out driving everyone. Obviously if the draft effect
is increasing your lap times and decreasing the wind/air effect, you
will see an increase in your MPG...

If you're saying that the F3 MPG read out is stuck at a constant 3.5,
well I can assure you that has nothing to do with LP files. Check out
the CCG site (front page) for more info on what they will and won't
do.

Thanks very much,

Jon Guest :-)

]No, I don't know, it must be the nascar patch itself. I reinstalled N2 and
the Expansions pack, applied the sierra patch without touching aNYTHING
else, and it was like that, so it must be the patch.........
