Is the CCG AI Project dead? I haven't seen any new
AI's in months. They did some real nice work for
the initial six tracks, or did Sierra decide to
hire them for N3 (as they should have!)?

Well, we are still around.  But, since it is a group effort, it seems
that of late one member or another has gotten side-tracked for one
reason or another.  We are trying to get back on track and should have
an update of our Marinsville AI released shortly.  The update should
bring in line more realistic straight and cornering speeds.  Also we are
attempting to work around the bug in N2 for tracks with front and back
stretch pits.  This bug causes the AI to smack the pit wall and bounce
back and forth across the the track.  Our fix is not 100%, but we feel
we have stopped this phenomenon.  Though occassionally an AI will "miss"
the pit entrance and slide into position through the pit wall.

We also hope to have a Rockingham AI release shortly and are currently
working on Richmond.

Stay tuned and thanks for the interest and feedback.

[No Sierra/Papyrus didn't hire us, but I hope they are looking, as I
feel we have upped the ante in AI just as Papy has upped the ante in
racing physics with their GPL engine.]

Thanks for the update Mike. Sierra/Papyrus, these guys
are a lot better at creating AI than your folks seem to
be. Why not give them a call?

Papyrus understood the problem. Just check out the Grand Prix Legends demo
and check the .cfg files. You will find that the AI has been VERY improved.
