I have just finished testing 3 video cards on 2 pc's using Cyrix cpu's
at P150+, P166+, P168+! and P200+. The p150 and 166 tests were done on a
shuttle 553hx mobo with 512k of L2. The p168 and p200 tests were on an
FKI sl586 vt2 mobo with 512k of L2. I have included some other quick
b/marks to give some idea of how wide the card speed band is before GP2
goes up/down in frame rate.

Sorry some of the tests dont inc the diamond 3d 2000 and s3 card, but i
was running out of time and enthusiasum(sp) to keep swopping cards
around<G>
If you set it up GP2 gives info on vid speed in log txt...here it is for
the following cards. I have also given the fps estimate. Settings
were,...SVGA, manual with low track objects everything on but no smoke,
sky texture or mirror texture.

Notice how it seems to me anyway, the fki board cant throughput the
video as fast as the old hx shuttle can.
Now i seem to have misplaced the dia3d scores for the new pc on gp2!!
My conclusions are that if you have the cpu speed you can, for GP2
anyway get away with a 40:00 basic S3 card and still get good frame
rates.
Now to get back to the real hard work....practice time!
Mike.
