Does anybody know if this is available yet?

Apparently the physics are spot-on, and the courses are very detailed.
I'm looking forward to the Central Park Jogging Path and the Mall Ring.

Before I watched the news today I thought this post was just crazy :)  The
thing is supposed to be out in about a year and go for $3000 and will let
you kill a Yak with mind bullets.  No brakes either :)  I had to rub my eyes
when I saw the thing scooting around.  It's like something out of a Jetsons
episode http://www.cnn.com/2001/TECH/ptech/12/03/scooter.unveiling/

Overall it's pretty stupid, can you picture these all over the sidewalks
with mini traffic jams?
And when you get to your location what do you do with it?  Carry it around?
Bet it's great on stairs.

Schooner brings up some good points about this scooter.  Andrew, I'm not
sure how either of your posts added to the discussion about this new form of
transportation.  Or would you like a cookie for thinking up Mall Ring?

As for me, I wouldn't mind taking it for a test drive to see what it's all
about, but I can't see myself justifying buying one.  I don't see a reason
for anyone to become that lazy, unless they are required to walk long
distances for a job.  So maybe this could be a big thing in industry.  Like
Schooner said, it could be used in warehouses, or maybe mailmen will use
them.

Jesse

PS Don't just go around calling people trolls.  It makes you look bad when
the other person is not trolling.

I'd like the cookie.

I'd like to drive it, but I wouldn't buy one if I can't get everywhere I'd like
to on it - hell, we don't even have bike lanes where I live.

That's your own shortsightedness - what about handicapped people? How about
people with heart conditions?

I'm not concerned about how I appear - the people who get it just get it, and
those who don't just don't.

Good, more ideas.  I thought of handicap issues after I posted and it is a
very good idea.  I did not plan to make a complete list of uses for this
scooter in my post, but I think my post had a lot more content then just
"troll".

I actually think I know the target market of this thing and this is not a
joke or a troll, it's aimed at aging baby boomers.  It's the "walker" for
the 2000s.

Andrew, when were your posts on topic?  Is a post mocking the sim community
by implying we want a simulator based on scooters on topic?  Or maybe your
single word post we will title "troll" was a positive contribution to the
discussion.  And then you have your "ripping a new a-hole in your logic"
post.  That one added a lot to the discussion.  And then this post yelling
at David because his post is off topic...It seems every post you make is
telling someone else they are totally wrong.  How about you say something
new to add to the discussion instead of just telling everyone else that they
are wrong.

But like Charlie said, this discussion doesn't even belong in this
newsgroup, so maybe we should stop the discussion now...Unless you were
serious about making a sim for this game...And if you were, then disregard
everything I said before and read what I say now...Segway legends doesn't
seem like an appropriate name, since these scooters weren't made 30 years
ago.  Maybe they could call it Segway Heat and then they could have little
tests where you have to start in last place on the last lap of "Central Park
Jogging Path" and everyone ahead of you falls down (Gyroscope failure?) and
you have to dodge the falling scooters.

Would anyone like to continue with some funny things that could be in this
game and maybe we can try to ignore the posts after "troll".
