Monster 2 3DFX help

by PACKFAN1 » Mon, 07 Jun 1999 04:00:00

Hey guys,
I just got a Monster 2 3DFX from a friend.  My friend thought it was a Voodoo 2
card.  When I examined the card before installing it, it didn't say Monster 2,
but rather just Diamond Multimedia and Monster.  I downloaded the drivers from
Diamonds web site for the Monster 1.  They didn't work.  I then downloaded the
drivers for the Monster 2 and the card seemed to work.  My problem is: the
programs using the Monster card don't run any better than without it, and many
actually run much slower (very poor framerates as oppossed to just poor
framerates).  The card does not show up in the display adapters, but rather in
the sound, video, and game contoller in the device manager.  I have a P233 with
64 megs of RAM.  Do I have it installed correctly?  Am I using the correct
driver?  And most importantly, CAN ANYONE HELP ME?

Thanks for any suggestions,

Gary Beard

Hi Gary,
Do you have the video pass through cable connected from the Monster to
your Video card...    ??
Just a thought, but that is what it sounds like.!!
Cheers,
Ron
