It's probably due to the effect I call "cropped out vision". The***pit
view is very different from our habitual racing simulators. It seems that
instead of offering a view that is large, almost fish-eye, ISI has decided
to crop the picture, which gives the opposite effect.
Think about taking a widescreen movie, and stretching the picture so it fits
the screen. Everything looks more thin, and you might find that there is an
obvious effect is closeness in the***pit. You also only see a small top
portion of the tyres when you sit in a F1***pit, so the effect of seeing
almost the entire tyre might give you that impression.
