Run in 640x480 mode but turn off everything except dashboard. Make sure =
you are not running Picture in Picture. Turning off the map and =
leaderboard helps but only about 1FPS for each option. If you can do =
without the dashboard you can turn that off also. Make sure you are =
running in full screen mode without a title bar. If you run in windowed =
or full screen with title bar you are running in software acceleration =
mode not hardware. If there is any way you can manage it get a Monster =
3D card with the 3DFX chip. I think these cards retail for $150 right =
now and they might even have some rebates on it. This card is one =
investment that pays off handsomely for 3D games! It is amazing how this =
games transforms Quake and CART Precision Racing. If you need more =
information about CART Precision Racing head over to The APEX =
http://www.quiknet.com/~joja=20
You will find setups, fast laps, FAQ, message board, editing, and more!
Thanks
John

Then maybe you can help my trouble. I have a 233MMX P55C,32 MB's =

Gold, 512 Pipeline burst, Ultra DMA Western Digital 6.4 GB hard disk, =

My Birthday(12/12). And I can't get a frame rate better then 15fps. The =
lowest I get is 8fps. And I don't have a clue on what the error might =
be. I want to be able to run at least 20fps min. I know my system can. =
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the posting - it almost seems as though people feel =
it necessary
to post an apology before saying anything nice about CPR on =
r.a.s.!
=20
It's OK to like the sim - many other people do judging by our =
sales and
email!
=20
Don't be intimidated by the slammers - I understand this is the =
traditional
r.a.s. "trial-by-fire"!
=20
Maybe we should start a "CPR-Anon" group! LOL!
=20
Anyway, being serious for a sec, frame rate is *not* an issue =
with most
systems that
are properly configured and not set for MAX everything =
(sometimes I wish
we'd
just limited what MAX actually does - less visibility than 31, =
less trees,
less hills,
lower rez textures etc etc). Then everyone could say "I have it =
set to MAX
everything and it still runs fast!".
=20
Oh well.
=20
Anyway, 25-30 fps on your system is about right (but 10 other =
apps
running?).
=20
I see 30-40fps on a similar setup (P6-200) with 64megs RAM and =
with detail
turned to
medium and GOOD image quality. And only CART running!
=20
A PII-266 3dfx hits almost 50 fps consistently.
