Will the GPL community suffer at the hands of WSC?

You have a point there, Dave. However, I think the idea behind
replicating a GPL car and track in WSC is to allow us to compare GPL
and WSC regarding the physics of the sims on a level playing ground.
Nothing more.

I expect the initial release of WSC to feature mainly Le Mans cars
(those are the "sports cars", after all) and I hope to see a historic
GT supplement later on.

As long as WSC has been in development, it SHOULD be better than
GPL.  If it isn't, well it's a shame.  All this time WAITING for an inferior
product.  Not good for the consumer.

Didn't they start development back when rendition was the card of choice?
They gonna have to start thinking about optimizing for the GeForce 8. :)

I loved F1RS [& I might start running it again??] but as soon as they went
into the "degrade" of that shitty MGPRS & it pissed me off to no end that
it wouldnt run correctly on my system back then! So I called and emailed
Ubi I got NO help from them what so ever! Nothing!!
So when I felt I had been used as just another stupid' consumer that they
cared less about via any support I said F***It & decided never to buy a
Ubi product again! They clearly didnt care about me so I defiantely didnt
need their bullshit!  I have never bought one title since and I wont!!
So this is why I trash Ubi and they deserve it!! I decided, If they can not
answer a few minor questions on just one title why should I bother?
Oddly when I first bought F1RS and had any problems I had two great
techs at Ubi that would bust their humps to help me but they were fired
and ever since I saw a "no help" policy from the other techs!
Sad but true! Anyway thats why no more Ubi for me DGF!!
Thom_j.
P.S. Sorry for the pooly structured ro'on sentences but recalling these
events got me POe'd all over again...lol

Unfortunately, customer service is sh***y with most companies. Terrible.
Especially the automated telephone menus. I wouldn't buy too many things the
rest of my life if tech support/customer service was the highest priority.
The bigger the company, the worse their customer service is usually going to
be.

Will the GPL community suffer at the hands of WSC?

I'm waiting for WSC solely for the reason to launch GPL. But if the online stinks then
I'll be forced to play more GPL. The community itself shouldn't suffer. It'll just change
games. I'm also one of the ones you mentioned that is planning an upgrade around it.
