Nascar 99, cars are all the same?

I just bought Nascar 1999 and I notice that all the cars and trucks are
the same. No Pontiacs, Fords or Chevys. Is it possible to download cars
to replace the generic ones or should I return the game? Why did Papy do
this?

  They lost the rights to the car logos...you can download an unofficial
patch to put the logos in at http://www.theuspits.com, and then you can
download a 1998 or 99 car set there also...the car set is for N2 but will
work just fine in N99.

        They didn't "lose the rights", they refused to pay the
royalties.  Also the logo patch is NOT "official", but it DOES work
<G>.  There are MANY sites on the net to find carsets: www.mnworld.com
is another FINE place!  No matter WHERE you go, aL, click on their
"Links" page and bookmark everything.  There's gotta be around 50
sites that do cars and patches....
