Nascar 3 - Your opinion please !

A decade???

Well much as I loved Indy500 back in December 1989 (in the UK) it would be
somewhat flattering to think my 286 was coping with the same engine used in
todays Papy sims!

Indycar was end of 93, Nascar followed a year later giving us 640x480 for
the first time.

It does feel an eternity back to the original Nascar in *** terms - only
half a decade though.

As I recall Papy were criticised for releasing a sim ahead of the hardware
capable to run it :)

Well to answer your question, if you felt n99 was just an upgrade,
then N3 is also.  However, there are a few upgrades in the game which
may make you consider purchasing it.  The first is the new multiplayer
using won.net.  You no longer have to pay to race.  The second, if you
have a sound card supporting A3D, the sound effects are great, and the
game is now native for Windows.  Since I skipped buying N99, I felt
justified in upgrading to N3.  The multiplayer is sweet as long as you
have a good connection.
So if you don't own a sound card that has A3D, and don't want
to race online, then skip buying the game.
