Nascar 2 Demo: My opinion

First off I want to say thanks to Papyrus for such a great game and
putting up with all the psychos out there who are ranting and raving
just over a demo. I can understand why it is so unfinished.

1. The Crew Cheif/Spotter function of the game is the best feature. I
just love to hear him tell you something.

2. The Mirror wasn't quite finished from what it says in the readme.txt
but it does work if you hit m.  The only problem with that is all 3
mirrors show the same thing. Gets very confusing. Luckily you have the
spotter to tell you, you have someone above or below you and when it is
clear.

3. Another thing is the Frame Rate. I have a Pentium 100MHZ, but still
with everything turned on you get some really *** frame rate. It does
look alright with a few things turned off. I hope you guys fix that on
the full version.

4.  I have a T2 and it works great with the game. I think the traction
control has been dealt with.

5.  It does say you are able to change the length of the race and I have
done that many times but every time I race it is the same length 10
percent or so. If any of you have been able to run longer races let me
know.

6.  Also it kind of sucks not to be able to mess with your setups in the
garage. The setup they give you is a good setup but if you race on 100
percent you will get blown away, no chance of getting first. Maybe it is
just me that is slow on 100 percent or something. Also let me know if
some of you were able to do good on 100 percent race.

7.  There are a lot of things missing that should have been here but
mostly they are not because of all of you fools asking for the demo so
early when clearly it just wasn't ready. Some of the things missing are
Speedometer, any flags, sign of where to pit, and most of the cars. It
only comes with 9 other cars. I think these things could have been in
the demo and should have been in it.

But overall it is a good game with a few bugs, hopefully all these
things and more will be done for the final version.
As for the Final version I could only imagine how awesome it will be,
but I will be one of the patient ones and wait for the complete no bug
full version. Once again Papyrus great game, you guys are doing a great
job.

yes, I hope this gets fixed and I'm sure it will...

I'm running it on a P100 with 16Mb RAM with everything on with no
problems.

What?! It runs delightfully smooth on my P-100/16 with max detail at
640x480. I'm impressed.

You're running with asphalt and grass textures turned on?  What do you mean
delightfully smooth?  I consider anything under 18-20fps (while acceptable)
as less than ideal.  Too bad the framerate counter seems to be inoperative
in the demo.

hehehehe, for me Eric, anything less than 30 fps is unacceptable!! ;>

alright, which Motherboard is best for the PP200 and a good video card
for it to run GP2, NASCAR, NASCAR 2, ICR, ICR2 and of course, Windoze
