Nascar Drivers,
Bill Dillon and I are currently working on an Advanced Setup Guide for
Nascar Racing. Our intention is to give all drivers, whether
"hotshoes" or beginners the necessary information that will enable you
to go faster, last longer, be consistent, drive safer, and have more
fun!! The guide will be available in 1 to 2 months after we wrap it
up.
The following items are some of our main objectives for the Advanced
Setup Guide:
a) Writing -- entertaining but to the point verbiage that
clearly illustrates a concept in simple terms. The track sections
will be structured to promote at-a-glance information from track to
track so that once you know the overall layout you will be able obtain
info on the fly without having to search for that elusive tip, etc...
b) Setups -- this is our forte and currently advanced setup
help is needed by many drivers. In the setup section an overview of
the physics of racing will be reviewed. We will take each aspect of
the garage and explain it to the extent that there will be no
questions about what does what and why! We will explain how to make
adjustments that will alter the cars performance according to
specific needs on any given spot on the track. We will walk everyone
through how we came up with our own setups, qualifying and race(also
provided with the guide), and how to develop a winning car which fits
your driving style. Unfortunately there hasnt been any significant
help provided in the setup area since Nascar Racing came out and this
guide with alleviate that need.
c) Driving & Tracks -- driving technique is just as important
as setups though many refuse to acknowledge this fact. We will
deliver information on how to drive each track correctly in order to
achieve maximum speed. In depth information will be given for all
major transition points on each track such as braking points,
coasting, turn in points, drifting, speed requirements, acceleration
points, passing sections and cornering techniques. All information on
track speeds will be accurate, as will the info on how to attain these
speeds. Safety and consistency will be covered as well as the level
of competition available on-line with the fastest virtual drivers in
the world.
d) AI & Racing Strategy -- competing with the AI on levels of
at least 106% Opps for all tracks means we will be able to give an
informed view on how to drive with the AI as well as developing your
race strategy based on diverse racing situations. Mental aspects of
driving will also be covered in an attempt to reduce the nervousness
and increase the concentration associated with racing at high levels
of competition.
Bill and I have been racing since the day Nascar came out and have put
in thousands of hours of seat and garage time. Our goal has always
been to be the best and win as many races as we can and to do it
safely and as cleanly as possible. We have worked in the garage
together for many an hour and have developed a setup philosophy that
has been a proven winner at all tracks and in all weather conditions.
Since the MP network has come up and the driving and quality of the
races are suffering, unless you're in a closed league, we've decided
to help out.
Some track times that will be achievable with information and setups
contained within the guide are as follows:
Atlanta - 188.9xx Bristol - 135.xxx C***te
- 185.5xx Darlington - 183.3xx Dover - 161.3xx
Michigan - 192.5xx Martinsville - 100.8xx Loudon -
132.xxx Phoenix - 134.2xx Pocono - 167.1xx
Richmond - 129.2xx Rockingham - 154.3xx Sears -
94.xxx Talladega - 196.xxx Watkins - 120.2xx
Wilkes - 116.7xx
While it's tough to talk about the teams success without sounding like
pompous braggart's, I hope you all see us as two guys who are a little
faster that want to help others and that's all. Anyway, if anyone is
interested in the guide please let us know, as we are going to do it
by a desktop publishing method and it will help to know the demand, if
any. Thanks for your time!!
*************************************************************************** Race for the sake of the race, for the three wide in a turn trust, Rhawn Black & William Dillon
for the pedal to the floor rush, for constantly being on the edge, for

for the memory of the Pettys & Woods, for the hard work done in the
garage, for Chevy, Ford, Pontiac and ol Dodge, for always givin it
