GPL Damage Editor?

Is there a utility to modify damage levels in GPL?  For example, if I
wanted to run longer races with no damage (i.e. blown engines) or if I
wanted to run shorter races with realistic damage?

Thanks,

Rob

Hi!

Not directly. But you can modify racelengths by editing the appropriate
lines of the track entry in both the "gp.ini" and "season.ini" files. For
example, if you want to race a semi-gp-length race in Zandvoort with full
damage level, you would have to change the number of laps in line 7 from 90
to 45:

/snip from "gp.ini"/"season.ini":

[Event3]
name=Dutch Grand Prix
shortname=Dutch GP
trackDirectory=zandvort
month=6
day=4
numberOfLaps=90     <-- change this number!
startingGrid=6

/snip

This change affects all race types, so that a novice race would then go over
7 laps instead of 14 a.s.o. You can also increase the number of laps in
order to race full-gp-length with novice damage model...

With SVG Editor you can edit saved games (starting grid). So the qual would
be done with the GPL settings, then exit the race and save the grid, then
edit it. You can change grid positions, damage level, car type for each
individual car (eg make a mixed F1/F2 grid), etc.
This utility can only be used offline of course. You find it here:
