For those of us that spend too much time looking at the scenery in GPL I
have created a utility for editing the textures.
I'm in agreement with Andrew on this one, I certainly wouldn't mind finding
a few burger stands to stop off at. You can download GPLMIP from The Pits
(look in the news page).

All the textures are 16 colour but each colour is defined with 24-bits.
The situation is very similar to the 4-bit textures in ICR2 & N2 but each
colour in those cases was defined using 15 or 16bits.

Many of the GPL textures are transparent. This property was available in N2
but was not extensively used until the BGN track pack.
