Anyone ever seen something like training mode on the
Ferrari F355 *** machine seen in game arcades?

It shows you the line and tells you where to brake.
Comments your driving and is fun and useful, but I
would like to be able to do the same at home preferably
on a PC.

F1, sportscars, rally, any category would interest me. Was hoping
for Skip Barber Racing, but that title is as far as I know not
going to be released.

F1Cs2k has many of those features in it's driving school.  Already
reduced in price at many retailers, don't pay full price for it..

I got my copy for 9.97 from Asda. All the games stores are currently
between 20 and 35.

There are driving aids in F1RC which show you the driving line, and indicate
when to brake, shift, etc. It also has a ghost mode which I think is the
best way to improve your lap times.
