Yeah, and 'Save the whales' is an order too. :::rolls eyes:::
Gotta love hypocrisy.
Hey, no need to get all petulant. None of my vinyl pops, and hardly any
have scratches. It's simply a question of taking some care and using
something better than a dime store sewing needle as a stylus. On the other
hand, quite a few of my original CDs from the mid 80s are unreadable now
even though they have no single mark on them. Of course it's subjective,
but I have yet to hear a digital recording of a piano which didn't sound
harsh. And Neil Young wailing through his stack of Marshalls (***, analog
technology of course) just sounds warmer on vinyl.

Very true of 80s CD players but there's some good ones around these days
that can match vinyl for warmth. Unfortunately they start at about 2
rand. - then again so do decent turntables.
More info on why they are doing it would help. Don't ask me to sign anything
without getting some facts on the why how where.
Andy.

As for FM vs AM, that's an equally excellent analogy because it once again
invokes the speed factor.
FM ('F' Modulation) is the sixth step in the evolution of radio transmission
and is naturally much more efficient than AM.
FM allows the sound waves to bounce up and down much faster than AM ('A'
Modulation), which was the original mode of radio transmission as invented
by the Italians Marconi and his lesser-known partner, Signor Panasonic.
As for those people who don't get it, (FM, that is) they just need to either
buy a new wireless set or put up a better aerial, that's all.
