here is the cbench scores again , got really tired of all the shit, i
was catching for just stating what i was getting attached below are the
results ,so there not great but ,the games still flies and i am very
happy with it now

Your computer received a Chris's Bench Score of 94.9
That is 78.9 frames per second

I have two systems one a Tyan Titan III (FX chipset 256K Pipeline cache),
Pentium 120, and STB Lightspeed 128 (ET6000 2.25 MB)) the other a M-Tech
R533 (VX chipset 512K pipeline cache), K5 PR166, and Diamond Stealth 64
(S3 Trio 64 1 MB Dram).

Here are my GP2 frame rate estimates given by the game.  I usually drop
the actual frame rate about two to keep the frame rate constant.

AMD K5                             Pentium 120

VGA all objects all options except mirror textures and Sky.

VGA all except mirror textures.

23.2                                        18

SVGA  low objects, no track texture, no mirror texture.

19.6                                         16

Here are CBench scores:

AMD K5                             Pentium 120

VGA
143.6 (86.2 fps)                   157.7 (94.6 fps)

SVGA
39.9 (23.9 fps)                     48.8 (29.3 fps)

Note that even though Cbench scores or worse for AMD it still whips the
pentium in frame rate in GP2.  This shows me that Cbench might note be a
good benchmark to compare frame rate with GP2.

For comparison, I'll throw in my numbers for my P133/256K/32MB EDO/Diamond
Stealth64 (s3 868):

Mine, 23.2

Mine, 19.6

Mine, 19.6 (no textures at all)

Mine, 157.2 (94.3 fps)

Mine, 52.2 (31.3 fps)

Well, I'm inclined to agree.  I'd make that more universal and say that
most all the benchmarks I've seen tend to come up short as indicators of
real-world performance.  Cbench at least doesn't predict factors of two
difference in performance as does ZD Lab's PC Bench.  Vidspeed also
overpredicted differences (and even re-ordered) when I tested a Stealth vs
Millenium vs STB128.  CBench was the closest of the bunch.  It is possible
that Cbench uses some aspect of the Intel chips which AMD doesn't do well
(and which isn't used in GP2)?  It is also possible that GP2's framerate
estimate may not be right-on for the actual gameplay too.

I'm not surprised that your AMD166/Stealth system outperforms the 120 with
the touted ET6000 chipset graphics.  The ET6000, by my testing, is a bit
faster than the Stealth 64, but not by near enough to make up for the 166 vs
120 difference (that is, assuming the AMD 166 is indeed equivalent to a
P166).

If you set frame rate at around 15 yes ,but there's no way that any machine
on the market today will run GP2 in SVGA with everything on at 25.6 FPS,
even microprose admits that such a machine does not exist, especially not a
P200mmx which cannot even run hi res. quake close to 20 FPS.

=====
You should see glquake running on a Monster3D at 640x480. It's
incredibly smooth, better than 25 fps is my guess. I wish Microprose and
Papyrus would take a hint here. For all the whining and moaning going on
about frame rates, you'd think somebody would write the game that makes
a $200 graphics accelerator card a "must have."

Bullshit. I might wear glasses but I dont need a guide dog. Smoothness
is in ones eyes. I seen it another guy has run it that is all there is
to it.......

Well, forget the overclocking. I got an estimate of 25.6; I
use one less, and I can now run Monaco at the same speed I did before,
but this time at full detail. I don't get 'standing kerb' patterns
anymore either- the colors change position instead of just flicking
from red to white and back again.

Worth $300 for an upgrade?? I guess that depends on you. It
definitely improved the game, that you can be assured of.
