Gregor,

You have been coding too hard :)

Phew, Ash, I wish! The truth is, I've been doing absoltely nothing these
days, I was simply unwinding from the stress of the past months. Perhaps
my brain already got too lazy :).

I too have been distracted by other things, but not for long, definitely
hard coding action in the next few weeks :)

Culling / Octtrees :)

I will have to pick your brains soon about important graphics decisions!

Hi Stephen,

I knew it! It's perfectly natural to be lazy after such a stunt!
Although, I was hoping that it would be more like 2 years than 2 weeks
.... ;)

Hey Gregor

My PhD defence coincided with a glorious dump of snow in the Alps.  I went
straight from the pressure-cooker at the University to two weeks of
backcountry snowboarding with nothing but powder snow as far as the eyes
could see.  If you have any guilty feelings about your current slothfulness,
rest assured that every single "doc" goes through a serious vegetation
period after finishing.  One guy I know did nothing but play two weeks of
Mahjong on the computer after his defence...

heh.  in my world, The Sims is unplayable regardless of framerate. :)
lol.  (I agree with your point, though. :D)

This was back in those innocent, pre-Anthrax days, before everybody and
their neighbour flipped out every time someone spilled washing powder in the
laundry room...

GPL only runs at 36fps, does the extra 6fps make *THAT* much difference ? Or
is GPL unplayable too ?

Perfect example.  The key to GPL is not high fps, it's consistent fps.  36
is more than enough if it stays near that level all the way around the
track.

I think consistency OVER a certain FPS is important. I can hardly tell
the difference from 70 to 200fps on my system. It both feels equally
fast.

Lol, only in my own game though with a GF3 and PII400 on Carrera, so
surely 300fps should be possible. ;-)

Don't really matter if your monitor has a refresh-rate of 100fps.
