I use Game Commander to "talk" my way thru all the menus and to give the
crew orders on what to do too..
Very handy program.

Things Voice Commander won't help you do:

10. E*** a woman not in your immediate family into a *** frenzy
of desire.

(at this point, I expect I've lost 50% of my audience)

9. Attain larger, firmer, more long-lasting ***s.

(there goes another 25% of the audience, 75% of whom don't know what
"***" means)

8. Get a higher paying job driving a real race car.

7. Get a job with the postal service so you can try out that shiney
new AR-15.

6. Get a job. Any job...

5. Graduate from the 7th grade (there goes another 18% of the
audience, 17% of wichich are too old to even go to school).

4. There is no 4th thing.

3. There is no 3rd thing (okay, so the ol' idea pit has run dry)

2. You were honestly expecting a 2nd thing? Loser...

1. Drive faster in RASCAR races. (right Eldred?)  :)

I read that and, I have to admit, that does happen. But that's because I
wasn't paying attention.

I find the NR2K3 mirror very "natural" to use as opposed to previous
incarnations (where I used to turn the car interior off). Also, did you
notice that, (to my knowledge) for the first time when you look right, the
field of view in the mirror changes as if you were actually looking up at
it. Very usefull when pulling out of the pits.

That said, I don't think I've been in a race long enough to really tell if
the odd car gets close without me noticing it in advance.

Like I said, the F2 view distracts me and I can't work the different chat
and function keys efficiently enough. I gotta fix that.

Um...that's what STARTED this discussion.  Jan had a BF because of a pit
violation, and I suggested that F2 would solve that problem.

I haven't been in a race long enough to pay close attention to the mirror,
either.  I just turned off the interior as soon as I hit the track.  It didn't
matter during my offline practice, and I was at the tail ent of the field in
Vegas.

All I know is the spotter said the pits were now open, so I went in.

When I came out the spotter told me where to go and I was forced into being
a lap down.

After watching the replay here's my recollection:
-When the yellow was drawn we were between T3 and S/F, the leader had
already passed the S/F.
-On the backstrectch we passed pace-car and entered the open pit. So we
actually took the yellow in the pits.
-When we came out we stayed behind the pace-car, which was now on the
backstretch. The leader was pitting so we were in front of the leader in
the same lap.

I'm still puzzled tough, if it would have been allowed if we had passed the
pace-car when we came out the pit.

cheers, jurjen

he told me the same thing David. I slammed on the brakes and started to go
for it but knew that the leader hadn't come around yet. I decided to avoid
you and go on around. I was cussing myself until I heard that you got the BF
for entering a closed pit. I am going to watch for that red flag from now
on. My spotter lies too!!
