The only way that I'm able to connect to the internet for online racing
is to use the CD. What am I doing wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong. You need the CD to play online.

Nothing. You need the CD for Internet (WON) racing. If you race using IP
addresses or using IPX, you don't need the CD.

Nothing. It is like that. It isn't that much effort to put in a CD, is it?
