Nope

I'm not a NASCAR fan by any definition of the word, the few times I
watched the reruns on Eurosport or checked the results on the web was to
see how Dale was doing

He was something else

In a nutshell Goy, he was what stock car racing is all about, unlike the
pretty boy/corporate version of today :)
Dale could do both sides of the fence.  Guys today can't/haven't.

I am sad for his family that he is gone, but he was not what stock car
racing was all about. Many others have come and gone as well as Dale. I
never watched a NASCAR race to see Dale Earnhardt. If he couldnt win by a
fair pass, he would move you out of the way. Any "sim" racer that drove like
that would had been muzzled and that's what is so funny about a lot of sim
racers that I see: all the time bashing people for wrecking people online in
a game and then they would pull for someone in real life who made a living
doing it. Sorry, but that is true.

Regards, Phillip

Of course, that's true.  It's also true, EACH AND EVERY one of them
does/have done the same thing.  I.,e Kurt Busch and Matt Kenseth this year
alone, and that's only what's shown on tv, and what comes to
mind/remembered.  Even Jeffy has done the same, more than once.  Same thing
happens a lot in the backmarkers that isn't shown on tv, because it's
following the lead cars.
I've always felt that if Dale had been marketed as something other than
what he was, his racing wouldn't have been controversial.........

And yep, he was what stock car racing is all about, at least what it used
to be about :)   But having been a fan of has since 1980, I'll admit to bias
:)

I think that decribing Earnhardt as what we classify a "wrecker" to be is
downright insulting.  Earnhardt drove like anyone would on a Saturday night
at a local dirt track.  I think if you thought it about a little longer, you
might realize that yes, Earnhardt got into/caused a lot of accidents, but he
was just an aggressive driver and accidents happen when you're aggressive.
If all he did was crash people out to win races, he would not have won the
respect of the fans or of his fellow racers.  7 championships speak for
themselves......

Yes, he had their respect all right but it was not just for his driving, it
was for the kind of man he was as well. He was a very nice man based on what
I've heard, it's a shame I didnt know that until he was gone. They knew
whenever he was on their bumper with 2 to go that they were going to be
wrecked. You can't even name one race when the above scenario was true that
he didn't wreck the other driver. If he could get to them, he would wreck
them. Just ask Terry Labonte. So, if there was someone online like that, how
would that person be treated though?

"You can't even name one race when the above scenario was true that

Please cut out the BS and stop disrespecting DE, that statement is not
anywhere near true.  Sure some people got spun by him but others have done
it as well and he never did it every race as you claim.

how about every freaking race he finishe second in?  he went 2nd at dayton
for eons and it was why his win was such a big deal.

i've been going to races since i was 3 way back in 64, dirt tracks
rockingham, myrtle beach and darlington, back in the day, old skool or
something, that was what you expected in STOCK CAR RACING.  conversations
would be, he put a good one on him--  next time, he'll get him back......
and oh yeah, a few fist-fights and not just the racers either.  the wives
would really get into it back on those Leland Saturday nights, hehe.

yeah, it's redneck and yeah it's a step up from rassling.

"I know it's only Round and Round but I like it!"  ya'll can have all this
fabricated let's not touch aeropush prettyboy happycrappy.  give me some
detroit steel (via japan, alas) and let 'em race.

so there, every freaking race he finished second, for a starter.  jeez
