Agreed, and I *think* NR2003 pulls its maximum rez and color depth offergins
based on the DX feedback from your video card, where it reports all its
supported rez and depths back to the sim and thus the sim only offers what
your card has reported as being available/compatible. That's a SWAG, but I
think it's close to being right.

Steve:

I've seen some nice Dell and Viewsonic LCD models.  I'll keep an eye on
them and their respective response times.  One day I will get one.

In case anyone is unaware Dell is giving away 15" and 17" LCD's with certain
systems for another couple days.

Yes, Dell often has "deals" for the LCDs, sometimes even w/o having to buy a
'puta.  (Dell's LCDs are made by an obscure Asian maker not generally avail
thru normal retail channels.)   If you've bought from Dell before, call yer
salesman and ask him to alert you for these special deals.

Max resolution is whatever your monitor will support, not 1024x768.  And
Steve Smith is correct: LCD monitors are only acceptable at their native
resolution.  If you are like me and want to do racing sims at a higher
resolution than your "normal" desktop, then forget LCD.

I don't have any problem with raising the resolution higher for sims.
Somehow my current nvidia drivers don't list anything higher than 1024x768 in graphics properties.
I'm sure my GF4 Ti4400 could easily handle higher res. than that.

Not if you want a decent framerate.

Sounds like you may have a *monitor* driver installed that tells Windows
that your max resolution is 1024x768 ?

Beers and cheers

Yes, very likely.
I am currently using a tired old NEC XV-17 crt.
