Can anyone out there suggest any 17" models which work well with N2003?
Since N2003 max resolution is 1024x768,
Would this be a problem with the LCD's higher native resolution?
TIA.

Here is the one that I use. Best bang for the buck. Some of
the newer 12ms refresh monitors don't deliver as promised.

I have a GF4 Ti4400 graphics card with both DVI and VGA output.
Which output gives better performance for N2003 graphics?

Haven't played it for a while but I could have sworn it went higher...

My N2003 video setup utility shows 1024x768x32 max right now. I just checked.
This also happens to be my max. desktop resolution in Windows.
Does it somehow auto-detect higher resolutions when they become available?

You can, as far as I remember, get higher resolutions than 1024x768 in
N2003.  But yes, the monitor has to be capable of higher resolutions, in
order for you to play N2003 in 1280x1024, for example.  Whatever Windows is
able to do, those resolutions will show up-- to a certain extent-- in N2003.

Funny thing with my FPD1830 (Gateway), after installing nVidia's 56.72
drivers (I have a GeForce Ti4200), my monitor goes from 1024x768 straight up
to 1280x1024, without going to 1154x854, which I could get before I
installed the 56.72s.  When I go back to earlier drivers, that middle
resolution appears again.  I was told that if I reinstalled my monitor
drivers, 1154x854 would again become available, but that hasn't worked with
me.  I like 1154x854 on my desktop because it is not too big nor too small.
As it stands, I have resorted to 1024x768, which I've been able to live
with.

Sorry for the digression.... :)

You are limited by the monitor driver information file you are using.
NR2003 goes way beyond 1024x768.

Yes, N2k3 will go up to at least 1600x1200, maybe higher, not sure, but I
know it is at least that.

Just bought myself an AG Neovo E series 19" (click http://www.neovouk.com).
It's absolutely brilliant in all but FPS games, when there is still a bit of
motion blur. CMR04 and TRD2 demo are fine. Very bright colours, nice
contrast and no dead pixels. You need to make sure you understand what
policy the manufacturer and supplier have in terms of acceptable dead pixel
count.

I was looking seriously at their VP201B.  Like the model you cited, it
shows a response time of 16ms...

I have a Dell 1800FP and it's fabulous.  I've seen the 2000FP and it looks
even better.  (Don't believe the specs.  Read the reviews and search the
newsgroups.)  Just ordered a ViewSonic VE700.  I'll post my comments here
later this week.

The key is not analog v. digital, it's staying w. the native resolution.
IOW, you have to match yer 'puta's capabilities w. the LCD: if yer machine
can only run 1024x768 w. a satisfactory fps, don't buy a 1280x1024 LCD and
run it at the lower rez; it will look horrible.

The new issue of Maximum PC had a test of about a half dozen Flat LCD
monitors.  only a couple passed their *** criteria.  You might want to
check that magazine out first.

Can you be so kind as to list the ones they rated as acceptable?  Any
20-inchers among them?
