Bigger is better.  I'll be swapping my 17" for a 21" in a month or
so.  My 47 year old eyes are going too, but they seem to be focusing
at the 5 foot distance that I keep my monitor.

If you get a larger monitor, the refresh rate is more important.
Don't go lower than 70 Hz.

I got a 21" at the beginning of this year and WOW!! (I'm only 22 so hopefully my
eyes won't be gone by the 40's :-))

If you have money to burn on your system, a big monitor is the way to go. Geez I
look at my old 15"er & think how did I ever squint & play on that.

The bad side is that VGA only games (ICR1) look bad, but SVGA look super cool.

Sorry.  Those little specks of cars still look like little
specks of cars even on a 21" monitor with 640x480 resolution.  I
hope that NASCAR 3 allows you to use higher resolution if your
machine can handle it.  I'd be willing to fork over the bucks to
get a 400MHz Deschutes with 3D acceleration and AGP if I could
run NASCAR at 1024x768 or higher.

To All:

I have to disagree.  Even a 17" monitor kicks ***compared to a 15" at
equal resolution.  I've played on both 15" and 17", and bigger is
better.

Recommendation to anyone buying a new computer.  Get the biggest monitor
you can afford or have room for.  It is well worth it.  Every
application is better viewed on large monitors.

For the ultimate sim experience get a hold of an LCD panel/projector.
***NOTHING*** compares to NASCAR Racing on a 7 foot screen.

YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!  The first time I played F1 Grand Prix on a 12' projected
screen I felt I was REALLY THERE!

bigger TV for running the game. It works great for 640 x 480 resolutions.
You can even setup a vcr and video tape your whole race with the in-car
camera.
