DAYTONA Patch for NASCAR 2

DAYTONA Patch for NASCAR 2

This is UNOFFICIAL. (IANAL, I'm just an engineer.) This is my take on
things:

Sega has exclusive license for home and arcade versions of "Daytona."
Daytona USA licensed from ISC the rights to use the track and
contracted with Papyrus to develop the Daytona Time Trials stations
you mention.

I (personally) want to include Daytona with our products. Sega's
license (from ISC) prevents us from doing that, as our product is for
home entertainment on computers.

IMO, Sierra/Papyrus are not the bad guys here, capriciously
withholding Daytona from you. (What would we possibly have to gain by
doing that?)

---Jim Sokoloff, Papyrus, but this message is 100% certified
UNOFFICIAL. It DOES NOT represent the views or opinions of
Papyrus/Sierra/CUC.

Since it is obvious Sierra/Papyrus cannot legally produce the Daytona
track maybe it is time for the hackers to take over <G>

Do that, and that will wreck what slim chance Papyrus/Sierra/CUC has of
EVER
getting the rights to Daytona!

Why don't you just 'chill', and wait?  I'm sure it will be worth it, in
the end.

The only thing that dosn't make any sense to me, other then money is, you
would think if Nascar is going to have
a hand in NRO you would think they would want to have
there most reconiced track in the game. Just my $.02

Jim, I am not sure that I call what I do with NASCAR2 "home
entertainment".  I am not sure what I call it, but it is something else,
I certainly put a heck of alot of effort into it.  What if the majority
of us all agree that it is something other than "entertainment", could
we be able to get your corp. lawyers to find a loop-hole for us? <G>

Hmmmm, that was the situation several months ago, but now the license
has gone bye-bye for another number of years. Track editors may now be
dusting off their tools....

I'm not so sure, but admire your confidence.

Cheers!
John

I don't care what they call it, or if they include a track editor, I just
want to race it.  I'd bet that maybe the track is already built and the
Papyrus have raced it, they just cant give it to us as Daytona...   But I
like your idea...  Call it anything they like...

Of course! The new sales mark:

NASCAR 2: Anything else is just home entertainment!

Think it'll work? <g>

Okay, and which 8-digit number would you prefer sewn onto the front of

I fail to understand the logic of how what some hacker does will affect
the decisions of the corporate world where only money and influence
counts.
