well, it DOES look good, but I fearm the "sim factor" will be reduced to
"full throttle, all the time".

The team programming it (Razorworks) did an *excellent* job of their two
efforts in the flight sim field (Apache-Havoc and the sequel Commanche-
Hokum). Those sims aren't seriously ***, but the flight models are
great and Razorworks showed a lot of talent as a game designing team... in
fact it was a real disappointment when we discovered they were working on
the console version of WSC next.

I have my fingers crossed for TIR. If reviews on RAS are good enough, and
my Momo will work with an X-box, I might even pick one up. 200ukp for one
game seems a bit excessive, but it might soften up my wallet in
preparation for the financial pain of RL :o)

PS Even if you're not a big flight sim fan it's worth taking a look at the
CH demo at http://www.racesimcentral.net/

Ive seen some vids of this sim in action. It really does look bad,
especially the bit where the car slides coming out of a turn. I think empire
kept tomy's nice gfx but dumbed down chris' physics engine to somewhere near
ridge racer levels.

Isn't TIR also being released on the PC?

I swear I read it was X-Box only earlier in the year, but a quick Google
gave me a PC version available to pre-order on empireinteractive's site.
You just saved me 160ukp ;o)

Man, that's ugly!

And I see no sign of an in-car view, the #1 thing that turns me off of
console ***.

Last I knew - TIR was built from the ground up new - and didnt inherit any
WSC code.

Unless someone knows differently?

Damn could they clog up the screen with any more interface widgets?

"Gee that big arrow says to right! Okeedoke!"

And what's with the star trek badges*** off the cars' rear bumpers?

OK, ep

The CODE is new...but the CARs/Tracks licenses are from WSC.  These are
the cars you WOULD have seen if WSC made it out the door.   Basically, I
think, they scavenged what they could from WSC, meaning the licensed cars
and tracks that already had contracts signed, and dumped them into another
generic sim engine.

Well dog my cats -- they done sold their pretty cars and tracks to the junkman...

BTW, Steve, I was staying up on Keuka lake for a week last month (or was
it a month last week?), and only grace and modesty prevented me from
tracking down your phone number and parking my wide berth on your
doorstep for a beer. God, I miss Upstate New York!

Not KNOWLEDGE Steve, but plain ol guesswork.  I looked back at the
various WSC screen shots &WSC movies and noted which cars were the early
demo cars.  Then I looked at TIR screenshots and saw basically the same
cars.  So I put two and two together.   Knowledge implies I actually KNOW
what I'm talking about :)
