GPL - carsets help

I've missed the boat a little with carsets (and tracks, for that
matter).  As I have a relatively slow machine (celeron 433, Voodoo 3
2000) I've assumed the 'latest' carsets and tracks will prove
detrimental to already average fps's, but I'm still curious.

So, I've visited www.gplea.org (God some of those screenshots are
lovely! The reflections on that Eagle..), and I've heard mention of
'jf's carsets; are these the yardsticks by which other carsets are
compared?

The Castle Combe project page
(http://www.racesimcentral.net/) has some
screenshots with lovely carsets on show...are they either gplea or jf
items?  Or am I being stupid to think anyone can tell?!

The jfcarset
http://qsilver.webmages.com/jfcarset/

is one file that contains all of the best bits that have been made for
the cars. It shouldn't affect your frame rate at all because you have
the option of loading different levels of detail (especially 2D/3D wheels).

Don't forget to make a backup of your cars folder before you install,
just in case.

Get it.
