The V1.06 patch doesn't come with a readme file.

What do I do with the patch? Do I simply unzip it into the main F12k
directory?

Yup, that'll do it.

Be sure that whatever program you're using to unzip it preserves the
directory structure as the files are expanded. There are updates that go
into various track and vehicle folders as well as the main game directory.

Good luck; it's a worthwhile update.
