NFS SE - improved AI!?

by Imre Olajos, Jr » Sat, 20 Jul 1996 04:00:00

I know that I am out of fashion and this is a late post, but I've just
won the tournament in NFS SE. I also know that EA has improved the game
engine, and this also seems to mean the AI of the other cars! They are faster
and more aggressive than in the std. NFS version, and they're pretty tough
to beat.

Then maybe it's just my rust showing up... ;)

BTW, since I won the tournament, now I have two versions of each track: the
standard track and the mirror mode. I was a bit disappointed to see that in
mirror mode you don't drive on the same track backwards, but rather drive
in the same direction, however what used to be a left turn is now a right
turn, and so on. (It also has the funny effect of making the player feel to
be in England, since in mirror mode the oncoming traffic is following the
left-hand drive rule! ;) And yes, I did get two versions of Las Vegas, too.

Can't wait to win the tournament again (with twice the number of tracks now!)
to see if the bonus power car is still there. :-)

NFS SE bug: if you finish the tournament, the voice will say:
"Congratulations! You have won the tournament!", regardless of the position
you finished at. (But it won't give you the goodies until you REALLY win the
tournament!)
