Mouse/steering wheel controllers

Quite some time ago I saw a contraption that consisted of a steering wheel
attached to a shaft. This was held by a bracket that you clamp to your
desk and then you attach your mouse to the shaft and the turning of the
shaft turns the ball in your mouse, giving you steering with a wheel
instead of a joystick. Has anyone else seen or used these? I haven't seen
one around for a while.

What's this about PC's not having good control with a mouse?
