Greger Huttu Smashes World Record Preparing For NTT Monaco GP

Finn Greger Huttu, current world record holder at Zandvoort, added the Monaco world record to his collection by smashing the record of 1:24.78 previously held by Brazilian Leandro Schmidt. In preparation for Saturday's NTT World Championship Monaco Grand Prix, Huttu unleashed a mind-boggling lap time of 1:24.67. Here's how he described the experience.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Before the NTT Monaco races I had a personal best of 1:25.37. In the first race that I ran, I promised that I would do a 1:24 lap time during online practice this week. In Wednesday's practice session I was able to come close to my goal, doing a 1:25.11. On Friday, I decided that it was time for some serious testing at Monaco. I managed to improve my setup and did a 1:24.98 at first. I felt that there was more time left in
that setup, and after a while I did a new world record...1:24.67! The lap felt pretty good, but when I saw the time I was really surprised. Later on Friday, I also achieved a 1:24.97 lap in the NTT practice session. Now I really feel that I've nailed that track!"

With a field of invitees that includes Huttu, NTT Kyalami Grand Prix Winner Roland Ehnstr?m of Sweden, world record holder Ian Lake of Australia, lightning-fast American George Sandman, and an entire field of world-class drivers who have fought all week long to qualify for the international event, the NTT Grand Prix promises to be one to remember!
