MGS(GP2) or anyone else,
Please post Microprose's, Geoff Crammond's and any other MP sofware
designer's e-mail.
For Microprose to NOT release an update on Geoff Crammond's far from
finished, so-called "masterpiece" is an outrage and unacceptable!

For the serious SIM fanatics out there, I hope you guys stand up for the
integrity for the future of our "virtual" sport. You have been sold
a shareware version of GP2 and You were charged FULL price for it!
Its up to you to either sit their in your chair and stare and do nothing
or you can join the masses and demand something be done about their
FLAW. Its up to each individual to see that this ***doesnt happen
again. How many times did you "deeply" stare at GP2 in the ***
magazines before it was released and couldnt wait for it to FINALLY get
here and then find out that pictures arent everything?!!!
Boycott any future Microprose game and let them know we will not
be ripped off again.

(yes thats right, good ole' DG (a front runner of the TEAMSTERS)

Looks like Spectrum Holobyte isn't as supportive as I thought after all. I
wrote them two e-mails and got both answered within a day. Then I wrote
one asking
if there will be an official update. That was several days ago. Still
havn't heard anything..

Yea, if you email them with praise they'll send you back a worthless
thank-you. But, if you email them with a question regarding updates
etc., they just ignore you. I'm all for a boycott.

Actually, my first two e-mails to them were also questions, but they
weren't about an update. It took them a day to reply to the first one, and
2 hours to the second one. Then I asked them if there will be an update,
and still havn't gotten a reply.

Microprose ran off with my money and left me and all other GP2 users
in the dark concerning future updates and/or bugfixes.

This is not something I appreciate from a software company.  I feel
like I've been robbed.  I will never buy any microprose product again
and I will encourag all my friends and relatives to do the same.

And if anyone at MP reads this, you won't be able to make me forget
what I just said by letting out GP3 out or any other game.  I won't
fall for it again.

Oh don't be silly!

Yes - we can pick holes in it - EASY!!!

But it's got far smaller cavities than things like ICR2's traction
problems or Nascars "difficulties" when their model moved off the ovals
to places like Watkins Glen where braking and cornering appeared.....

And as for the craters in well known "productive" programmes like
"Office Suites" or operating systems (Win 3.1 or Win95!) ..... hmmmm!!!

Get real. See things as they are. Not perfect, but .....

Enjoy them for what they are and not what they "could" be ..... GP2,
ICR2 and Nascar2 can be a lot of fun .....

Cheers!

I can't understand all this talk about being robbed by Microprose. I
personnally think that GP2 is a top notch simulation of F1, at least
from what I see on TV on real races.

I'm not a computer game fan, I'm a F1 fan and from that angle, GP2 is
top notch.

I feel the game is very very very challenging. Sure, If you look for
"bugs" long enough, you'll find some in every computer program.

I'm getting more pleasure from GP2 than the money I paid for it.

Sure, there are a few things I'd like to see improved in a future
version, but the present version is a very good one.

Congratulations to MicroProse and all the programmers involved in the
making of GP2.

The double insult is that the price of GP2 has now been slashed
dramatically.  At least those who buy it now will pay less to get less.

Hi, fellow Toby.

You are the one who said one of best things about GP2. That's indeed a
shareware, a beta version price full.

But I'll add some new idea about it all. IF we're REALLY right about
what we suspect, then we've all been stolen and there are thieves out
there.

Take care.

Fernando Assis.

OK its good, but its not completed, thats the problem.
I will not list all the bugs & bits missing but its
a poor effort by MP releasing the game,
Especially with 1994 cars (sloppy work)

If they release GP3 at a full price (with no upgrade
path from GP2 - I would pay for the upgrade) then its onto
the pirate sites & I will help myself to a pirate version.
I have allready been stung with GP manager 1, loads of bugs
then they release Manager 2 at full price. Not a good move

Sounds like you have more experience watching TV.

And from "that angle" your opinion is shallow and stands no ground.

Bugs?!! This SIM is so unfinished some of the bugs arent even working
right!

Good, when you find out that you cant play with anyone else, via modem
and
when you wana move up to SVGA and you wana hear sound or have desent
framerate or have wet weather
or desent utilities,,..on and on and on.

Congratulations MP for pulling the wool over Claude's eyes! Dont worry,
we'll set 'im straight!

Please, David, don't put a guy down for having a different opinion to
you.  There are a lot of folks out there who like GP2 (I don't think
it's -too- bad) and that's fair enough.  You seem to have a go at
Claude to vent your frustration with Microprose:

> > I can't understand all this talk about being robbed by Microprose. I

Your point being?  I watch as much F1, CART and NASCAR as I can get.  I
enjoy games more because of the coverage and enjoy the TV more because
of the sims.

Excuse me?  Since when has a Formula 1 fan's opinion of a Formula 1 sim
stood no ground?  He follows the sport.  He plays the sim.  He has valid
opinions.  All facts.  Should this newsgroup be restricted only to the
few who play games at -every- opportunity?

IMHO a game lives or dies by it's single player mode as I (and, I'm
willing to bet, most other game buyers) don't have access to a LAN and
phone bills are a consideration.  He's obviously happy with VGA and/or
little texturing.  I hear everything that's important in GP2.  I don't
hear opponents, but does it really make that much difference?  Does to
you, doesn't to Claude.  Weather, fair point, but it's a missing
feature, that's all - doesn't mean the game is unfinished.  Utilities?
I paid a one off payment for a piece of software on CD Rom.  When I
handed over my cash it was never on the understanding that I was going
to get anything more.  I didn't sign up to or pay for a service
agreement.  It's a 30 quid game.

Once again.  Dude buys game.  Dude takes game home.  Dude installs and
enjoys game.  Whats wrong with that?
Hey Claude: your not -really- enjoying that game at all, you can't
possibly, because I don't ;)

Live and let live.

Happy racing

This is not about what could be better in GP2, this is about getting
some support.  You don't take people's money and run in this business
or else you're gonna pay for it somehow.
