Regional Settings and GTR2002

I had trouble with the movie and pre game menu. When I, after a clean
install of F12002 and GTR2002, first time started GTR2002 from
GTRacing2002.exe the game started normally. It run the intro movie and
went to pre game menu where I could create a player. But after I had
created a player and tried to accept it just gave me disorderly menu and
CTD. After that the only way to get the game started was to start it
from GTRun.exe, but then I was the only car on the track because I was
not been able to create a player and change the options at the pre game
menu. The same problem occurred in win98 and at under XP Pro.

I tried every possible trick presented here at r.a.s and SimMods forums
but still no go. I was giving up hope but then I remembered something
and decided give it a go. A while a go there was a slight problem with
one handy GPL related program called GPLAIM. It would not start if the
windows regional settings where not at English. So, I changed my
regional settings from Finnish to English (United States), fired up the
game and bingo, it works (in win98 and XP). Now I can start the game
from GTRacing2002.exe and fiddle with the options at the pre game menu.
Finally I am not the only car at the track :) I hope this helps others
who are wrestling with same problem.

I have problems too. When I installed f1 2002 it worked fine. Then I
installed gtr2002 and the sound was crap, the speed would not go over 78 no
matter what gear I used, and the graphics were very ordinary.

"M Knorr"
Pit Lane speed limiter.  This has got to be the single most asked question
about all the f1 2kx sims.  Press L to disable after crossing the pit exit
line or map it to a button on your joystick/wheel and toggle it on/off from
there.
Graphics depend upon what you chose in 3d setup AND what details you have
set in the graphic options.  It can go to very plain to very detailed.  But
remember, the graphics are also dependant upon the ISI core sim(F1 2k2) and
won't change drastically from that base.
