GPL sudden control problems

Has anyone had the case where the car suddenly seems to be just about
uncontrollable for a lap or so after being OK for the previous laps? It
sometimes feels like the track has just been greased. I'll spin, get going
again, and the car keeps wanting to slide off the track. I'm not sure if
this is a car setup problem, a game controller problem, something that I'm
doing wrong, some unseen damage to the car that is being modeled this way,
or whatever! Sometimes I'm better off just returning to the pits and
starting over (which is a pain at long tracks like Spa).

You didn't mention the damage level you are running but I suspect that unless
you are in the no damage mode you are bending some suspension piece when
spinning. I'll get different results with what seems like a similar scrapes on
a rail or running over a curb so it is a bit of luck as it is in real life.
It's a *** with full damage when you have to finsh a race holding the wheel
a quarter turn to the right.

Seems that after a real fast and/or long spin, the tires get hot & you lose
grip for awhile until they cool off.  Check tire temps after this happens &
see if that's the case.

I have noticed more twitchy behavior as the fuel load becomes lighter. The
car gets more loose then.
And maybe Papy has modelled dirt being layed out on the track as cars go off
and get back on again.

Assuming its not damage, I'd bet you've just overheated your tires
in the spin.

I find that often around the 7th lap on a typical circuit if I've been
abusing my tires they will start to go off, which can produce spins, etc. if
you try and ignore it.  Usually means you need to abuse the tires less.
ICR2 at Nazareth I could pass on the outside of the big turn on every other
lap.  Try and do it twice in a row and BANG!
