I wonder if there will be 9,000 more posts on GPL2 like there has been on GPL?

Will this be a sequel sequel or a track pack of sorts?

Good choice of season. I'll look forward to this one even more than the
original.

It depends on the era of formula 1 you are interested in. I prefer wings
and slicks to the heavy Lotuses and BRMs, so this sequel would suit me
more.

IMHO they should do '86 or somewhere around that era. Turbos, Mansell,
Senna, Prost, Piquet. *That* would make sense and probably some money
too.

Notice on the GPL CD, a directory "cars 67". Why should year be significant
if there was not to be more.
Assuming I can eventually manage more than one lap with this era (and on
black stuff), I'd like to give the GPLn ground effect era a try as well.

Of course, I can say that GPL was somehow made in mind that an upcoming
"Expansion pack" could be made if it was a hit. It was the same for IndyCar
Racing 2, but they somehow switched their focus to stock-cars. It could
easily be the same, back on focusing to stock-cars.
I would pay anything for 1979. With a special AI for Gilles Villeneuve
;-D
Great drivers from that era... Alan Jones, Jody Scheckter, Clay Regazzoni,
J-P Jabouille, Ren Arnoux, Andretti, Lauda, Piquet, Patrese, Fittipaldi,
Ickx etc...
Great tracks also. Buenos Aires was great I say. Interlagos is great as
always (it was double-lenght of the actual one). Kyalami is good, and we
would have Long Beach !!!! Jarama is one of those boring circuits on a map
but it's actually quite fun. Zolder is a great track, as Monaco. Dijon was a
great circuit from what I read, and Silverstone is always a great track (it
was about the same as in 67 but with a chicane on the last corner).
Hockenheim would be just incredible with no chicane at the far part of the
circuit and a little kink on the third chicane. The Osterreichring is one of
those cool tracks (the AI Ring but at that time 100times faster and cooler
;-D ). Let's not forget Monza and Zandvoort also ! (in their heavily
modified concept but who cares hehe). Finally there's the ULTIMATE cool
circuit that I went just too many times (the Notre-Dame Island circuit now
known as the Gilles Villeneuve circuit) and Watkins Glen. The last one was
pretty fun. The first 2/3 of it is the same as in GPL, but the last part is
actually made from the "old loop" you have in the actual circuit".
That would be my ultimate year ;-)

76 would make perfect sense for an F1 sim. It had an epic title battle
(Lauda/Hunt), it had great tracks (Nurburgring, Osstereichring etc.), it
had exciting, attractive cars (inc. JPS Lotus, 6-wheel Tyrrell, 2
different Ferraris), it had big name drivers (Andretti, etc) and was a
time when GP racing was big in the US (which had two GPs, an East and
West).
I think two more obvious choices for GP Legends type games would be 1990
and 1994 (though of course GP2 simulated 94).
