Incredible!

Lots of scenes from the Nurburgring.  And looks like they now have
animated drivers.  Much nicer than the closed convertible with
shaded windows of previous versions.  With all that extra
animation, any impact on framerate?

Its just a shame that the replays in the GT games look a whole lot
better than the actual in game graphics.

Assuming it is a replay, and not just a pre-rendered movie.  I'm
no expert, but I suppose it is indeed a replay.  When racing, I
usually find I am so engrossed in the driving that the difference
doesn't detract much from the experience.  And the beauty of the
replays, including the excellent "camera work" keeps me watching
them in GT3 far more than any other title, PS2, XBOX, or PC.

It looks like a GT3 quality of replay, it has FSAA that is conspicious
by its absence when playing the game. I got rid of my PS2 a couple of
years back as I couldn't stand the low res graphics compared to my PC.
How I wish someone could make a GT3 quality game for the PC.

Now that MS has made it extra easy to develop for both platforms at once, I
bet we see Forza Motorsport for the PC, maybe even by Xmas.

Unfortunately MS don't know how to make games fun like GT3.

I'm sure that the people playing PGR2 would say differently...

I haven't tried it, but I don't hear people gushing over it like they
do with GT3 so I have my doubts.

Okay, let me gush.  PGR2 is a very fun racing game! Graphics and
sound are superb.  Physics model is acceptable enough to keep me
interested.  Fantastic choice of cars.  I prefer real circuits, so
other than having the Nurburgring, it loses points here.  But even
so, many of the street challenges are interesting.  And while
arcadish, I do find that "proper" driving technique is usually
yields the best results.

It will not have the legs that GT3 had.  But I've played a fair
number of racing titles on the PSX, PS2, DC, and XBOX.  PGR2 is
probably #2 on my list after the GT series in terms of holding my
interest.

PGR2 is plenty of fun, and there are plenty of people gushing over it.  When
I last looked it was the second most played game on Xbox Live.  But other
than that it is kind of an apples and oranges comparison.  PGR2 is
unashamedly an arcade game.  The developers even said that the reason they
did not include a***pit view is because they thought it would be too
"simmy".  GT3 OTOH is said to be a sim.  I wouldn't expect the two games to
necessarily appeal to the same people.
