rec.autos.simulators

I am looking to get a Playstation racer as my computer is pretty well
dated and I have all the racing sims that will run on it (N2, NR1999,
ICR2) and would like recomendations on a good racer for Playstation.  I
would prefer simulation but would get an arcade game if it is good
enough.

Gran Tourismo is probably thte best...  TOCA 2 is great.. but arcadey..
good fun....    Colin McRae is good fun..  reasonbly realistic...  ..

F1'97 and '98 are OK..  but not very realistic...     VRALLY is fun..  and
good for a bash...

The rest aren't so good...  Are you thinking about a wheel???    The Mad
Kadz is the only one i have tried.. it is OK..  plastic.. flimsy.. but
beter than a control pad...

Need For Speed: High Stakes should be a killer game, and will be more sim
than previous NFS's.  (comes out on Mar. 31st)
Need For Speed III is better on the PSX than the PC.
I can't recommend any more killer sims.  Rally Cross 2 is fun, and Micro
Machines V3 is a blast!

I know you said other than Gran Turismo, but that is without a doubt the
best racer on the PSX, especially if you're looking for more simulation
like.  Not much else out there to compete.  I hope you say "other than
GT" because you already have it, because if you dont have it, that is
the one to get.  OTOH, you might want to hold out a few weeks and take a
look at Sports Car GT.  It looks good, but who know's what it will play
like.

what about R4: ridge racer 4? i have not played it, don't even know if it is
out yet, but i read somewhere that it is a great game. and you should get GT
if you don't have it already.
