Yeah...We need a decent M/C sim. How about it Papyrus? Didn't you used
to have a guy in tech support that knew lots about motorcycles? Why
not make him a producer and let him go at it for a year or two?

The only thing I know of is Accolade's  Cyclemania,  which is fun and I
don't regret buying it, but hardly a sim in the F1gp,  Indycar mode.  I wish
there was more,  I'd love a good bike sim.

Right on! Grand Prix motorcyle racing is damn exciting. How about it
Papyrus or Microprose?

Road Rash (Electronic Arts) is coming out this year. It's more of an
arcade racer than a sim (think Need For Speed), but even the two
year-old 3DO Road Rash was a *great* game, with a very realistic
motorcycle feel and superb, high-speed graphics.

Well, as you may have noticed there are few good motorcycle sims:(
The only one I enjoyed playing was RVF Honda on the Amiga, don't know
if it exists for the PC. You could race on a lot of tracks in the UK
and it was pretty difficult to win, with close racing all the time...

You`re welcome:)

Greetings,

Rob.

Sadly this is a thread that re-appears every so often in this conference
- always with a whole lot of people going yeah, yeah! And I look at the
crowds lining the banks at the sides of the tracks I work at - always
more at the bike meetings than the cars - so there's the interested fans
as a potential market. AND there's no competition. _AND_ since much of
the background (ie graphics engines, many tracks, etc) are already there
for two well known companies I'm amazed this lead hasn't been followed.

But last year Microprose apparently dropped the idea of Crammond doing a
WSB simulator - and Papyrus don't seem to understand that two wheels are
better than four.

So there's nothing out there.....sadly.....      B-(

Cheers!

I'd like to see a Motorcycle Sim, along with a Sprint Car
Sim.....Off-Road Desert Racing wouldn't be bad either.  It's like all
other Business's out there....Nobody wants to hire anybody to take
full advantage of the opportunities out there, instead they just keep
trying to put out fires....And if they're like the company I work for
they are losing the battle..

Yes, you're right, Road Rash on the 3DO is a fabulous game!  It's the only
games I keep going back to on the 3DO.  Personally, I much prefered it to
Need for Speed.  There's a greater variety of scenery in there, and the
courses are longer.  All that without mentioning the rock music and
cut-scenes.  Brilliant!

I wonder if the PC version (if and when it comes) will have extra
scenery/tracks.  There were plans for a sequal of the 3DO version, but I
haven't heard anything for months (is it just me, or does the 3DO now
seem to have died completely?)

Hard to say - they did a Playstation version that was almost identical
to the 3DO version. But then the Need For Speed was significantly
upgraded for the PC, so you never know.

What I'd like to see in Road Rash PC:
- Support for analog controlers/steering wheels (3DO and PSX are
digital-only controls)
- Two-player split-screen mode
- Modem play
- KALI compatible network play
- new tracks and bikes

That alone would make it a SMASH hit. Can you imagine 8-player Road
Rash over KALI?

I don't know if this fits the catagory you guys are discussing but I
heard (not a rumor) that a Motorcycle Super Cross type game is in the
making. I think it'd be awsome racing motorcycles over massive jumps
and whoop dee doos (is that spelt right?) I can't remember the name or
the company who is producing it but it is coming out! Some help I am
hey?
