Controller Calibration Question

by bertr » Fri, 25 Jul 2003 09:11:18

Since installing a TB Santa Cruz soundcard into my WinXP rig over the
weekend, I'm having trouble properly calibrating the brake pedal on my
TSW controller.  Basically, when calibrating (and in all sims,
especially LFS) as soonas I just touch the brake, it jumps to
apporximately halfway applied.  From there until full application, it's
smooth.  Note that the gas pedal functions smoothly thru its full range,
which indicates to me that it's probably not the gameport.

Is this a bad pot?  Or could it be something else?  (Note: this is a
spec pot from TSW, but it's been in the pedal for quite some time.)
What's the best procedure to determine what the problem is?  If it's a
bad pot, what's the best way to clean it?

Thanks!

Bert
