Multi Player in N2

I have a modem partner that I race with quite often, and we are pulling our
hair out tring to figure out how to edit the multi list so that I can drive
my car and see his car on my screen, and so he can drive his car and see
mine on his screen.....ya follow me?  I have figured out that whoever hosts
gets to keep there car and the other car is the second car in the list.  So
when I host, I get to drive my car and  my buddy gets the second car in my
list(which is  his car that I loaded.)  On his computer he gets what ever
car is second on his list and the car that I (the host ) am driving is his
T_player car.  We've switched cars around but no matter what, I am always
his T_player car on his computer...Is there a way to do what I ask?? if
anyone knows how and can explain it better than I have tried to explain
this please LEME know....

Thanks ahead of time.

You and whoever you race with MUST have their OWN car in the TOP of
the Multi.lst file and it is recommended that you have a unique name
to your car file other than the T_Player.car.  ie:  yours TOM_S.CAR,
or something like that :-).  the individual that you are racing, MUST
have your CAR file in his CAR directory and NOT in the Multi.lst with
the exact name that you are using on your end.  This is the same with
the person your calling to and you must have the exact same name car
file of the individual your racing with.  It is also recommended (Not
necessary) that both of you have the exact same multi.lst and carset
(with exception of the first car which of course is yours) so that the
other AI cars will match as well on the track.

Sounds confusing, but it's not.

Hope this helped.
