I asked for help with multi-player before, and got a nice clear answer
(unlike the manual). Unfortunately, it still didn't work out completely for
me.
Basically I'm just trying to figure out how to start a multi-player game
such that both me and my opponent are in the cars we designed and have our
correct names.
This is what we have done so far, most of it was clearly defined by a
reader of this group before.
1) Each of us created a NEW driver, and gave them a unique filename, and
car #. (We then painted these cars)
2) We transfered the .car files to each other and put them in our \car
directories.
3) We made sure that our own car was 1st in both our MULTI lists.
4) The host has himself 1st in his multi list, and then all the AI cars we
wish to race against.
5) We have used Sierra's autp-update ,to update the game to it's newest
version, and to ensure we both have the same version.
When we run the game, it works perfectly on the HOST computer. Both racers
have the correct names and cars.
Unfortunately, on the CALLER's machine, the name are correct, but the cars
are not. It gives the the 1st car in his MULTI list to the host's driver,
and then takes the 2nd car in the list for the CALLER. If there is no 2nd
car, then it uses the 1st car over again.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
I'd appreciate an email reply too, if it's not too much trouble:
Thanks.
