I really dont know what im talking about here, and im sure someone will
correct me when they realize im wrong, but i thought that the sidewinder
4.0 software wouldnt work at all with XP.

Here's the funny as hell part. Microsoft has awarded WHQL certification for
XP to this software _in it's current condition_. Yes, software that
outright says it's not compatible was awarded WHQL cerfication without as
much as a tiny update to fix the installer.
So much for the integrity of the WHQL certification process...
I guess when you own the keys to the Lab, you can break any rule you want.

Have you tried running it under the win98 compatability layer? And if
so, did that help?
