NFS2SE problems, please help!

by Bullma » Fri, 02 Jan 1998 04:00:00

I am currently having a problem with NFS2SE.  I got this game for Christmas
and installed it and have been playing it for the past week.  I have
encountered not a single problem until now.   I  booted up my computer,
dropped in the nfs2se CD and launched the game.  The 3dfx logo comes up as
usual and then NOTHING!!!!  The game just freezes when the 3dfx logo looks
faded. It has never done this before.  I have tried re-installing it,
updating it with the patch.....but no go!  I was able to play it this
morning but it wouldn't let me this evening.  I have my Pure 3d overclocked
to 57mhz, so I tried it at a lower setting (all the way down to 50mhz) and
still nothing.  Every other one of my 3dfx games work flawlessly.  I have a
P-166, 32mb ram, pure3d, and a monster sound card.  I have all the updated
drivers for everything.  As I said before, I could play it this
morning....but it doesn't work now and I have done nothing to my computer's
configuration.  What could be causing this problem?!?  If any one can help,
please do so....it would be GREATLY appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Did the cd somehow get scratched?  This is all I can think of if you did
nothing to the computer.

Does the non-3dFX version work?
