Reactor Installation for N2

by Greg Alexand » Thu, 19 Dec 1996 04:00:00

I just received my Reactor and installed it and installed the drivers,
but when I try to access the Nascar program the monitor goes to sleep
on me.  That is while trying to access through Win 95.  When I try to
access through DOS it acts like it loading the old video drivers, but
that has been disabled.  Do I need to uninstall and reinstall Nascar 2
and do I need to install the Direct X stuff off the CD that came with
the Reactor card.  I just popped in the board and loaded the disk.
Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like you're in need of a BIOS upgrade.  The newest BIOS has
fixed this lockup with mist systems.  You can get it from my webpage
(the utilities section).

Eventually you'll need to install DirectX (I'd recommend getting
version 3.0 from
http://www.dimension3d.com/software/library/dx3small.exe ), but it
shouldn't make a difference to Nascar2.  Be sure to re-install the
latest Reactor drivers over top of DirectX.  Get them from:
