While at the Dover BGN race today/Graphics Editting - Nascar 3?

I was at Dover Downs today for the Busch Grand National race.

(congrats to Randy Lajoie <-sp.)  :)

I got to thinking on the way home tonite, Ok so papyrus for
various reasons can't duplicate all the specific billboards
graphics etc. at the actual tracks.... for licensing rights etc.

Couln't they or a talented racer make some sort of utility
like the car painting options that would allow us to paint
the billboards, etc.  ourselves?

If papyrus did this I suspect it wouldn't be till Version 3.0 or later
I would imagine anything they intend on putting into Nascar 2
has already been finalized.

Just a thought....

I haven't been able to try the demo myself, but someone who has sent
me some information.  One thing they said was there were PCX files in
the TRACKS directories that represented the various billboards and
whatnot at the tracks.  He said (and I agree) that if they're set up
that way in the full release, then it would be rather simple to
replace the billboards that come witht the game with anything we want.

There aren't .pcx files of the billboards, just the event logo's(ie. Napa
500).  Supposedly if you purchase a video card with the new "verite chip",
you can make your own billboards, and it will automatically put it in the
game.

When I die, I want to go peacefully, like my grandfather in his sleep,
not screaming like the other passengers in his car.

Have a look at the August issue of Sim Racing News, and read the piece
on ICR2 - pay particular attention to the pictures :)

NASCAR2 will be like that.

Cheers!
