PREVIEW: ELF-FASTRACK
ROB SWINDELLS 3RD EQUAL - 1999 GOLDLINE BEARINGS SUPERCUP Championship
What: ELF-FASTRACK SCHOLARSHIP 1999, Silverstone
The Elf-Fastrack programme is dedicated to finding the Grand Prix
drivers of the future. On offer is a year's tuition at the world's only
motoracing academy, "Elf La Filiere" at le Mans, absolutly FREE and a
season's FULLY FUNDED single-seater racing in the French Campus-Elf
championship
Rob Swindells: "This is a fantastic opportunity for me to progress my
career. I've been working hard all year and I'm glad that I've managed
come up with the budget to have a crack at winning the Elf-Fastrack 1999
competition. I'm expecting tough competition and relishing the first
real challenge of my motoracing career. I'm extremely motivated to
succeed and I feel in a good position, thanks to my training, to
capitalise on this chance. The competiton is being held on a circuit I
know - Silvertone's Stowe Circuit, so my first priority is to win the
final two rounds of the Jim Russell Goldline Bearings Supercup
championship, held on the same circuit. This I feel, will set me up well
and give me the confidence to get to Le Mans."
1996 Elf-Fastrack Champion: Tom Davies
1997 Elf-Fastrack Champion: Westley Barber
1998 Elf-Fastrack Champions: Adam Jones & Adam Carroll
