NR99: over/under steer

I have play the NR series for a few years, and yet I am still unable how to
tell is a car is loose or tight.  I know in real life that if the car is
pushing, the wheels are turned but the rear end of the car drives the
frontwheels sideways.  I also know that if the car is loose the rear wheels
will start to slide sideways.  But I am unable to get this 'feel' in NR.  My
stupid spotter/crewcheif doesn't offer any advice on this.  What clues
should I look for to help me determine what my car is doing?  Please don't
tell me if the backend hits the wall first, then its loose and if my front
end hits the wall first, then its tight.

Try this.  When you enter a turn, try to hold a line close to the white line
on the bottom.  Steady gas and steering.  If your car wants to continue
turning to the bottom of the track, and you have to turn wheels of change
gas to keep it up on the bank, thats a Loose condition.
If your car moves up, away from the line, and you turn left some more and
the car still slides up, thats Tight.
These may be very subtle clues, so pay attention.  Dover is a good place to
feel loose/tight, but very difficult to setup the car right.  Try Michigan.
Lots of time it the turns to learn this feeling.  You may also effect a car
setting to induce a loose or tight condition, to better illustrate the
feeling.  Like lots of rear weight + little spoiler. 8O

Tire temps -- If the right front is 15 degrees or more warmer than the
rear wheels then you are pushing. If the rear wheels are 15 degrees or
more warmer than the right front then you are loose. I try to get the
right front and the rears as close together as possible for a neutral
car.
