NR99 Prices

by Metro6 » Wed, 25 Nov 1998 04:00:00

Somebody asked the other day about the pricing for NR1999. I bought mine at EB
for $49.99 + tax on Wednesday last.

I have been to Best Buy here in Cincinnati 4x, up to Sunday, in the last week
and they didn't have it in yet. One day, I was in there and they had NASCAR
Pinball and N1 bundled together for $19.99 and the next, $29.99. Hmmm....

Anybody played NASCAR Pinball yet? What is the object, how do you play it and
is it worth the price?

Anyway...I was at Wal-Mart last night and saw NR1999 for $34.99.

I called CompUSA in Tampa the day it was released and asked them EB was
getting it tomorrow, do you have it?..."Oh no, EB gets their stuff about a
MONTH before we do."....HUH? A month? I'll be glad to pay a few bucks more
to get it early. EB, I'm sold.  :)

Just my $.02,
Aaron

Send me the money [ $34.99], and I will go to Wal-Mart and buy it and ship it
to you. I am sure that it won't take a month to get to you. Aaaand....it just
might be cheaper.

    Oregon is tax-free <GGG>

    Don't know it's price, but there's a demo on Sierra's site.  Pretty
cool.  It's Terry Labonte's color legend.  If you're at all into Sierra's
other 3D pinball games this is a MUST have.  Interesting actions (a ball
goes into an area on the right where 4 pit crew guys pick it up on a jack,
rotate it, and drop it back down!).  Sounds are pretty good, too.

That's what I was gonna do till they screwed me over.  I found it at
Software, Etc.  They had 3 copies hidden with other games (not even
DSIPLAYED!).

Wal-Mart!  DAMN didn't think of them when I had to have it!  Paid $50
(no tax in Oregon).  Hopefully the rebate'll come through.

It was here in Cincinnati. I checked the 5 other NR99 copies, and they were all
$34.99.

The Best Buy store finally got it in and it was $44.99.

Not really, Best Buy and Wal-Mart have it here in the Atlanta area for
$34.99 and when I visited my parents in North Alabama, the two
respective stores also had it for that price.

I bought mine at Best Buy.

One more thing.  $34.99 is more in line with what Sierra has been
making their new releases.   Most of the sports games they come out
with such as Football 99, Baseball 99, etc. have been selling for
$19.99.  If you want my personal opinion, and it's just an opinion, I
think EB sometimes jacks up their prices because they know people will
pay it or because they have to because they allow people to return the
games after they are opened.

Just a thought.  $34.99 is fair.  Besides I only paid $34.99 at Best
Buy for Grand Prix Legnends when it came out.
