New Beta Turtle Beach Santa Cruz Drivers Available

by Larr » Tue, 20 May 2003 02:53:22

I just saw the post about Audigy Drivers and it reminded me I've been
meaning to post this for a week or so...

There are new Turtle Beach Santa Cruz Beta drivers available.  You know
where...

It's been a while since there were any new TBSC drivers.  Frankly, there
really hasn't been a need so that doesn't bother me.  Those guys have a good
handle on making stable, reliable drivers.

I did notice one thing that may be my imagination.  With the new drivers, I
_think_ the stereo separation in NR2003 (left to right) is better.  In the
pits, I hear separate air guns on the right and the left instead of it
coming from both speakers evenly.

I don't _believe_ that was there before, but I could be wrong.

It's been a week since I got these.  Finals or an updated beta may even be
there now.  I'm going to look after I finish up here on the forum.

So far the beta's have worked just dandy for me.

Turtle Beach has posted new Santa Cruz drivers twice in the last week.
Versions 1434 and 1436 (I think).  People here were complaining about
control panel settings being changed with the 1st set, it's been fixed
in the second.

Can't make sense of those version numbers.  The ones I downloaded and
applied are 1.02.4158.01 according to the "about" screen.

Couldn't get my rear speakers working at first.  For some reason, in
the Windows 2000 control panel, speakers were set to "surround sound"
instead of "5.1 speakers".

Filenames for the drivers were sc_4184.exe and 4186.exe.
